DUMB DUCKS
"Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte
If the Ducks we saw in Game 1 were a group of Huns they'd burn the village to the ground - and then set out to pillage.
Dumb.
Real dumb.
Ya, what a duncical display of arrogant, undisciplined hockey they put forth at Honda Center last night. Penalty after penalty after stupid penalty, and the Stars made sure to capitalize on 4 of the 7 powerplays served up by those Thuggy Ducks.
Things to be impressed by:
Marty Turco looks like the same stellar rubber repeller he was last year in the playoffs.
The Zubov-less defense seemed undeterred by the Ducks physical barbary and actually gave as good as they got.
The Dallas forwards, led by Ribeiro, Morrow, and Lehtinen, moved with alacrity having no problem catching the Ducks either flatfooted or overpursuing.
The powerplay acted like a Catholic School nun, repeatedly rapping the Ducks on the knuckles with a yard stick for bad behavior.
Things to say that will make you sound like you stayed up late and watched and you're in the know:
"I think Steve Ott is this year's John Druce."
"Giguere is an excellent first save goalie but he has the mobility of an A/C unit."
"Robidas keeps the tightest gap."
"Eriksson and Richards seem to be finding some chemistry. I think they could be this groups Langenbrunner and Nieuwendyk."
"What's up with those gigantic Stanley Cup Playoff logos on the ice?"
"I think Razor made up a word again. He used 'nubal' during the game as a description of where Ott got hit when blocking a shot."
"If the Ducks turn the puck over like they did in Game 1 this might be a short series."
"The Stars powerplay reminds me of '91 and Ulf Dahlen, who coaches it, was on that team"
"Doesn't the Ducks coach look like a slightly paunchy Gene Hackman?"
"I think Chris Kunitz needs a spanking and a timeout."
You BELIEVE now don't you Stars fans!
