BETTER TO GRAB THE BULL BY THE HORNS
When the NHL gets back to playing its contact brand of hockey this week the league office will undoubtedly find itself hand wringing over potential fines and suspensions because of delinquent behavior from their “partners” on the ice.
Imagine what the Pro Bull Rider’s Conduct Committee would dole out as punishment to a hockey player who abused a fellow player (a human) as you read the following:
The PBR's conduct committee has fined rider Kasey Hayes $7,500 and ordered him to make a public apology during the PBR's next Versus broadcast after throwing his facemask at a bull at Sacramento, Calif., on Jan. 18.
The committee also said Hayes will have to enroll in an anger management program and complete it or he will be suspended for three events.
And what would the fine and penance be if the bull got “angry” at the cowboy? $6,000 and an invite to a BBQ?!
I know what the rider thought of the conduct committee’s decision, “Bull#@&*”
