JULY 4TH VS. CANADA DAY

This entry is dedicated to Mark Janko and the clown that he is.

July 4th celebrations in the United States are second to none and put “Canada Day” festivities to shame.

This is a fact.

You guys know fireworks.

And we Canadians envy your ability to just give er’ on the 4th.

However, a recent poll shows that Canadians are wealthier than Americans (NHL Free Agency probably accounts for at least a third of this), live longer than the Swedes, have more TVs than the Japanese, and eat better than the French. And according to Maclean’s magazine Canadians are even better lovers than the Italians.

We got it goin’ on, eh?

The poll did acknowledge that Americans lead the planet in financial net worth per household, and by a large margin - $245,700 (Canada was second at $154,100). This helps explain why the U.S. is dead last in number of vacation days taken per year (13), you’re all busy earning that quarter million. FYI, the French take 38 days (No surprise there).

So Happy 222 America! I’m off to the bank to withdraw some coin to buy a television so I can watch cooking shows until my wife comes to bed. I hope I don’t have to hurdle any dead Swedes on my way. You probably don’t understand – it’s a Canadian thing.
