THEY'RE WINNERS IN MY EYES
Say what you want, assume as you will but I'm pretty sure the Stars
won the game last night. They might not have scored more goals than
the Predators, but they won that game.
Sadly, many financially strapped and painfully misinformed ticket
holders immediately bombarded my text in-box demanding their free
tickets following what equated to a tie game with the Stars taking it
to the Predators for the majority of opening night at ACC.
What's that? It was not a Stars win as I had guaranteed. Really?
Wasn't it?
Let's review.
The Stars outshot the Preds 40-26...win.
The Stars won the 3rd period 1-0...win.
The Stars hit two posts to the Preds one...win.
The Stars won the "knock a player out of the game" 1-0 because Modano
came back for the shootout...win
And so on.
You get the picture.
And before you try to attach "welcher" to my name please give your
head a shake and realize that simply by being in the building for a
season opening game, as part of a sellout crowd, on a night that saw
the Stars rally to tie and send it to overtime - then OT again in the
shootout, with all the thrills and twists and turns, amd all of it
augmented by the swanky new high-resolution video boards, you in fact
won - we all won - we're all winners - just like I promised.
That's what I'm talking about.
Now as far as whether my strong to very strong, empassioned, and broad-
viewed opinion of the decision goes - I will be conclaving with my
legal team of Didnott, Sea, Dat and Cumming to get a better handle on
whether my argument holds zamboni water.
Also, I've started a Dan Ellis I Hate You page on the interweb
thingamajiggy.
Ticket holders, I thank you for your investment, your understanding
and your patience. I'll be in touch.
