NEW TEAMS, NEW NUMBERS

Hey playas, its August 2nd. Time to spark the blog up again, eh?

So Turco is a Blackhawk. Thoughts on this: He was a massive Tony Esposito fan (same hometown) so there is some nice karma there, however, he will not be donning his familiar #35 cause that was Tony “O”s number and it is hanging in the rafters at the UC - a place where Hawk fans hope Turco’s jock doesn’t reside this season.

Speaking of numbers, if Modano signs with the Red Wings he’ll have to pick a different jersey number too. Some guy with the audacity to call himself “Mr. Hockey” wore #9 in Motown and they thought he did well, so they retired his number. (Oh, and incase you’re starting a pool, double-nines won’t work either – that guy called himself the “Great One” and the league was so smitten with him that they forbid any future wearing of 99 throughout the thirty teams.)

Questions: If News Corp buys the Stars do I have to be Fair and Balanced? Will Hannity host the pregame? Does Celena take Ellen’s spot on Idol? Will our post game shows be No Spin Zones? Does Doocy get a box? Will Gordon Ramsey cook the pregame meals? Will Ralph guest on Glee?...
