NEANDERTHAL SIGHTING ON THE ISLAND
Trevor Gillies has to go.
He's a goon. He's a clown act. He's dangerous.
The NHL has the opportunity to make a strong statement about what is acceptable behavior in the league and re-enforce that playing in the NHL is a privilege, not a right, and that "right" can be taken away - like, forever.
This is "on a platter" stuff for the powers that be. Gillies returns from a 9 game suspension for his antics against the Penguins and launches himself at the head of Cal Clutterbuck. What a frigid dunce! Does he think he's Triple H or Eric Von Erich or something?!
Bottom line, the NHL should have a standard of conduct that is unattainable for a talentless thug like Gillies. If it doesn't, well, then maybe Mario was right.
