WILL 96 POINTS BE ENOUGH?
The Stars current pace of point production will leave them with a grand total of 96 come season’s end.
That should get them in, right?
It would have last year.
The Avalanche grabbed the 8th seed in the West with 95 points, and in the East, all it took to make it to the Conference Final was 88 measly points. The Flyers and Canadiens snuck in to the playoffs with 88 and then miraculously met in the East Final!
But 2011 is shaping up very different than 2010. Ninety-six points will probably only secure the 10th seed, and a very good seat to watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
So me, Razor, the Pete Delkus of playoff-spot prognostication, hair perfect, jacket off, sleeves rolled up, will be setting the playoff-seeding floor at 97 points in a tiebreaker.
The goal has been set, now go jump into the vortex and get ya some you Dallas Stars.
