STARS LOSE 6-0 TO SHARKS, GERMANS BOMB PEARL HARBOR

As Belushi (the funny, talented, dead one) pointed out so eloquently and erroneously in Animal House, nobody quit when "the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor", and nobody is quitting on this character driven Stars team.

Oh, it may have looked like the tent poles were being chucked in the trunk at times in San Jose but they had a spirited skate yesterday and will recommence the chase this afternoon against a Kings team that has lost it's top two scorers to injury.

Needed are:

A winning game from Kari Lehtonen, not another just good enough to lose one.

A Brad Richards sighting, the pre " upper body" Richards that is.

Speaking of "pre"s, how about a return of the pre-Allstar Game Loui Eriksson

Karlis Skrastins is coming back, that helps

So does the 75% of Adam Burish, who looks like he'll give it a go. I'd take 75% of Burish any day cause he'll make up the physically deficient 25% with heart and effort.

A stern defending game from Daley and Woywitka, so, not a repeat of two nights ago.

A repeat of the last game at Staples center from Morrow and Ribeiro

More Benn

More Goligoski

Some face-off wins

And a smart, business-like game plan with poised bench execution from Crawford and his staff. Not vein-popping, ref-baiting, experimental crap.

Get all of that and victory is a certainty.

If they don't win this next one they'll probably have to run the table to give themselves prayer and that's not likely to happen, so ya, it's kind of a biggee in the City of Angels.
