RAZOR'S FANTASY FREE AGENT SHOPPING LIST

I’m only two Sleeman’s into my day up here at the lake so this is a relatively sober yet highly uneducated stab at filling the Stars lineup holes and spending our $10-$15 million in cap space ($10M being CBA mandated) only hours before a frenzy of spending by G.M.s, the likes not seen since July 1st 2010.

Here’s my overall “List of Intrigue”

Ville Leino
Matt D’Agostini
Joel Ward
Brendan Morrison
Micheal Rupp
Patrick Eaves
Chuck Kobasew
Jeff Tambellini
Tanner Glass
Mike Lundin
Ruslan Salei
Matt Gilroy
Tomas Kaberle
Sheldon Souray

Leino is a must. I don’t think I ever saw him play a bad game as a Flyer.

Get Glass, Rupp and Ward to give you an instant “hard to play against” line with size.

Morrison is a sentimental signing (he’s my brother-in-law) but also a smart one. His knee is fine and he replaces a lot of Richards at a much, much, much, much lower price.

Lundin is a guy you don’t know but is real good.

Kaberle and/or Souray give the defense and PP instant upgrades.

The others are maybe worth taking flyers on.

Ancillary list: Mike Commodore (bought out by Columbus so could be cheap), Andrew Brunnette (so he can’t kill the Stars no more), Jason Arnott (bought property in Dallas), Alexei Ponikarovsky (productive as Nieuwendyk linemate in Toronto), Mike Modano…?

Bottom line, be very thankful I don’t have the purse strings.

(Note: as I’m writing this Eaves signed with Detroit. Damn!)
