THE EAGLE SPINS
In the Spring of 1999 Eddie Belfour could have easily been awarded the Conn Smythe for playoff MVP – he was that good.
His time as a Dallas Star was fascinating: consistent and elite performances on the ice, clashes with Hitch, maniacal equipment tinkering, an interesting night at The Mansion. and the utmost respect from his teammates and Stars fans.
The Eagle will again suit up in a Stars uniform this Sunday but he won’t strap the pads on (Retired goalies don’t do that much), and he’ll very deservedly be headed to Toronto in November to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
But before all that, let’s revel in Crazy Eddie’s ESPN promo from a decade ago. This one is just so Eddie. I’ve watched it 15 times and it made me laugh every single time.
